The Design—Crochet Sweater Pattern
Dive into a crochet project that merges style with skill. This advanced crochet pullover pattern features a sophisticated v-neck design and captivating wavy trim detail along the bottom hem and cuffs, adding a touch of feminine charm to this unique crochet top. Perfect for any season, you're sure to stand out in a sweater that's as unique as you are.
The sweater is constructed bottom-up by making 4 panels—front and back panel, and 2 sleeves. Then, pieces are seamed together.
Fit + Sizing
The Sonora Pullover has a slightly cropped and straight fit. As written, the sleeves (depending on size) are either straight or very slightly tapered—with a general guide included for substituting any sleeve for the size you're making (if a different outcome is desired). Sizing for this sweater is unique due to the wave repeats, so it does not fit standard CYC guidelines. The 6 sizes will fit a wider range of bodies. Select best desired fit.
It is designed to have a positive ease of 4-10". To select your size, measure your bust and find the garment circumference in the chart that matches approximately 4-10" larger. If you prefer to have more or less ease, select the garment circumference that best reflects that number in inches compared to your measured bust in inches. I have a 34" bust and am wearing a Size 2 for 6" of ease.
Size | Bust Circum. | Garment Circum. |
Size 1 | 22-28" | 32" |
Size 2 | 30-36" | 40" |
Size 3 | 38-44" | 48" |
Size 4 | 46-52" | 56" |
Size 5 | 54-60" | 64" |
Size 6 | 62-68" | 72" |

Materials
As written, you'll need category 2 sport weight yarn (11wpi) in the amounts of:
1054(1348, 1754, 2130, 2617, 3065)yds
Yardage noted includes additional 20yds beyond calculations needed for sweater.
Other materials you'll need:
3.5mm and 4mm crochet hook
tapestry needle
scissors
st markers
Gauge
20 sts x 20 rows = 4" square (blocked)
Yarn Substitutions
The yarn I used is WeCrochet Comfy Sport in the color Silver Sage, which is 75% pima cotton and 25% acrylic sport weight yarn. I recommend a fiber content similar to what I've used for best result; however, I've included some other fibers you can try in the list below. Make sure you make a blocked gauge swatch. Small differences in gauge can lead to big differences in project outcome. For more on gauge, you can read this blog. You can also use Yarn Sub to browse yarn substitutions.
