The Design

As a sister pattern to the bestselling Obelisk Pullover, the Obelisk Scarf features the same unique striped knit-like ribbing texture and is hemmed in by a simple, classic i-cord border. With so many options for styling, this accessory is sure to be a staple in your cold weather wardrobe for years to come.

Materials

As written, you'll need category 4 worsted/light worsted weight yarn in the amounts of:

  • 830yds category 4 worsted weight yarn

Other materials you'll need:

  • 5mm crochet hook (1 for the main part and 2 for the i-cord edging)

  • tapestry needle

Yarn Substitutions

The yarn I used for my sample has been discontinued (WeCrochet Felici Worsted undyed), but you can substitute many worsted and some DK yarns for this pattern (especially since it is customizable, if your gauge is a little off). You can also check out Yarn Sub. I always recommend gauging prior to starting your project to make sure the fabric stitches and texture are to your liking. For more on gauge, you can read this blog.
